I think I just screwed myself a bit worse when it comes to the sleeping schedule. D:
What started it off was the family situation that I mentioned in passing on my last entry; I was getting visions in my dreams that seemed mighty scary and prophetic; so to the point that I couldn't sleep because of them. On the good side, I managed to be a little productive and finally listed all of my old college books on Amazon, in which 3 have sold on the first day already, making me over $100 right there. If I can keep finding lucrative things to sell, maybe my mom won't be so on my ass about the job thing while we can work out the possibility of me getting on disability if my prime choices don't work out.
Bellevue Animal Hospital down on Fairfield was hiring; I need to get out of my funk so I can go apply, I guess. I could walk that distance, really. My mom said there was some immediate hiring impending at UDF (even though I already applied on there online weeks ago), though after thinking about it, the idea sounds less and less appealing because a) I suck at general retail and would fail massively at making sure people pay for their gas, and b) it's like thirty degrees inside that place constantly. I've dealt with cold workplaces before (the last job most notably), but thiiiiiis is severely overdoing it. I'd get pneumonia before the week was out, and I'd rather like not to get sick twice in the summer. And I think they make you wear uniforms, so I don't think I actually have an option to simply dress warm (which is fucking aggravating to have to manage in late July). Still, I wish I had more lucrative items to sell online.
Anyway, for those wondering what said "family situation" is still, here's the skinny on the thing starting from the top:
( Thankfully I realized this might be boring and/or redundant for some of you )
... how unabridged that was.
Anyway, I mentioned not too long ago that Total Drama Island (it seels more powerful to bold it, huh?) swept me in unexpectedly, for I did not expect a cartoon of Canadian descent based on reality shows to entice me, but somehow it does. Of course, this already aired for a full season in Canada and thusly spoiled myself silly on the results thanks to Wikipedia, but it doesn't make the episodes any less fun. It was getting frustrating for a bit with CN's scheduling the "new" episodes right when TNA starts, which my friends want to watch again, but thankfully some nice Canadian soul on Youtube is putting up an episode each day and so now I'm like three episodes ahead of what's premiering on CN tonight. Hope that sticks before that user's video's are inevitably taken away!
For one not being much for what canon tries to push for pairings, I am actually very much enjoying the Courtney/Duncan development. And I actually do really like Gwen even if she's the "loner goth girl" stereotype, because unlike Danny Phantom's Sam, Gwen isn't a pretentious, overly-opinionated bitch. She ironically seems like one of the most normal people of the entire cast. And I love Izzy because I love crazy chicks. Harold is essentially Napoleon Dynamite (even does the GAWSH and everything) and henceforth awesome, DJ is adorable, I enjoy Bridget and Geoff as well. It's fun to love to hate Heather and fun to watch Lindsey be the punching bag (namely the Dodgeball episode). Too bad I already know who wins. XD
In some sick way, this show is a lot like the RPs
Another gracious soul is putting up Candy Candy episodes again. I got into this 1970s shoujo anime last year and was plowing through the episodes until my mom and I had that issue. Then the episodes loaded crappily on my dad's laptop, and a short time after that they were all taken off. I made it all the way to episode 39 (of a 115-episode series), technically 40 if you count that the last one was Spanish-dubbed. I know for a fact this series has at least been subbed somewhere into the late 50s, but for some reason the user is retroactively adding in older episodes before putting in newer ones. I managed to get through the Spanish dub alright, considering I also spoiled myself on the details for the rest of the series and with some knowledge of how exactly the series is going so far and my limited knowledge of Spanish, it was alright. But I'm way too used to the Japanese voices so I'd really like some more subs put up soon. ._. It'd be awesome if someone would completely sub the entire series because it really is quite epic for shoujo. I'm probably stepping on some toes by saying this, but anime from the past decades just... really seem to have a lot more soul to them compared to today's stuff.
I'm not sure. Candy Candy is essentially a sadist's edition of a Cinderella story (except it ends vaguely rather than happily ever after), but the protagonist is rather likable and doesn't strike me as being a Mary Sue at all. It's not magical shoujo; more like quasi-historical shoujo occurring during the early 1900s ... in America. Oh yes. You see what I did there?
Anyway, who knows how long that user's going to last. I don't get why they were taken down in the first place considering America really, seriously has no means of getting Candy Candy otherwise.
Still fanart-gathering, and soon enough I'll snap and do some sharing and inventory. Tales of Innocence's collection is growing quite nicely. And I've run this entry into the ground something awful, so I'll cut off here.
Until another time~!
